Having a place to set your TV and store all of your DVD’s can be challenging with today’s home designs, especially with niches made by the builder which can’t accommodate all equipment sizes. A custom entertainment center can.
The unit shown here was a design and need that a client had with very demanding considerations. The first was the new tv would not fit into the niche built into the wall. It just needed a place to set on. The second need was space to store a lot of movie DVD’s and game DVD’s. It needed to rest inside the niche as well, but not protrude into the living room as to create a walking hazard.
The resulting unit fit perfectly into the deep recessed niche, allowing the TV to set on top but not too high past eye level when viewed from their sitting area. The entertainment center projected from the wall just a few inches and had rounded ends to create a soft and pleasing look that says it was made to be there. Incorporating four deep drawers allowed the storage of all their DVD’s and other miscellaneous items. There is also a place built for their center channel speaker to be concealed out of sight.
