Description
This artist box has become a favorite of Disney Artists who still do this type of work. The version shown here is designed to hold three 11″ x 14″ canvas boards, as well as a pallet of the same size, without any wet surfaces touching each other. The top of the lid is hinged to reveal slots for the canvases, and the pallet rests on four posts in the corners of the box. Another unique feature is the use of rare earth magnets in several locations to hold the canvas secure while painting.

Joinery: This artist box was built using box joinery to create a very strong and beautiful look, commonly found in high-end wooden briefcases and other boxes.
This version is made from Paduak, Birds-eye maple and tiger maple. The dimensions are roughly 12” x 15” x 4 1/2”.
Finish: Knowing that this artist box is used outdoors and will take some abuse I’ve carefully applied 6 coats of clear satin Acrylic with UV protection to the exterior and hand rubbed Danish oil to the interior parts.
