About Bill Cowan

Growing up in the south and wandering through the woods around where I lived, afforded me the opportunity to appreciate what we have in nature that surrounds us.  At an early age I found a deep and passionate love for working with wood.  It wasn’t uncommon for my parents to drive up at home and be unable to pull their car under the carport because of all the little projects I had going on from building bird houses, tackle boxes and things I just couldn’t put a name to.

Over the years, my experience and talent bloomed into something I could never have imagined.  Taking a piece of wood or something from a tree and creating a piece of furniture, or jewelry box, humidor or rocking chair gives me great satisfaction and reward when I can find new purpose in this wood. Not that I could ever equal Him who came from a woodworking family some 2,000 years ago, but I recognize and give credit to Him for the talent on loan to me.

I hope you’ll read through some of my musings in the Blog section for more about life and woodworking.  And if I’m blessed to provide one of my pieces a home with you, I count that as the greatest compliment I could have.
